Intro to Hat Knitting

Mondays May 16, 23, & 30 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm at Vita Nova Creatives & Coffee

Jump into hat knitting with this simplistic lace summer hat, perfect for the warmer weather we are approaching. This class will dive into the basics of creating a hat from start to finish. Intro to Hat Knitting is targeted toward the semi-beginner knitter. Ideally, individuals taking this class will understand the basics of casting on and performing the knit stitch. Mastery is not necessary!

Day 1 – May 16th: We will work on casting on and knitting the ribbing on the bottom of the hat.

• Skills to cover in class: Casting on, Knit Stitch, Purl Stitch

Day 2 – May 23rd: This class will focus on the body of the hat and the design.

• Skills to cover in class: Knit 2 together, Yarn Over

Day 3 – May 30th: In our final class we will focus on decreasing for the crown of the hat and finishing the project.

• Skills to cover in class: Knit 2 together.

This class is subject to a 5 person minimum.
