“Creating Altered Books/Journals with Water Soluble Oil Pastels” is an opportunity for participants to learn the history, uses, and techniques in the mixed media called altered books/journals. You will use water soluble oil pastels as your main type of medium along with collaging to create your personal book or journal. Participants will have an opportunity to experiment with color theory and the various techniques in using these pastels.
*Note please bring assorted copies of personal pictures, momentos, and magazines. In addition, you will need to bring an old book of your choice that contains heavy weight paper (for painting) which is somewhat textured. Subject matter of the book is of no importance, we can use the text to create writings or poetry. Suggestion: book can contain pictures you may want to use in your artmaking.

Class is subject to a 4 person minimum.
